    To minimize the chances of skin irritation, NMN + Carotenoid Plus contains astaxanthin, a kind of carotenoid, extracted from the Hematococcus alga instead of crustaceans.

    In a benign habitat the Hematococcus alga is green and multiplies, but in an adverse environment it turns red, because of its internal production of astaxanthin, and remains in a dormant state to protect its life
    Astaxanthin is considered to prevent oxidation (2). As a matter of fact, its antioxidant power is said to be about 10 times that of β-carotene, about 800 times that of coenzyme Q10, about 1000 times that of vitamin E, and about 6000 times that of vitamin C.

    The discoloration of oil or fruits are examples of the reaction caused when substances are exposed to the oxygen in the air.
